I love street photography passionately. For me it is the supreme form of photography. It has so many parallels with spirituality. Gifts of photographs come unbidden, unarranged, unconstructed, as does Grace to the humble devotee.
You need to be ready – especially in street photography – because the photograph takes form in a fraction of a second and has moved on in the next fraction.
It is closer to stage design than most other photographic genres – except all component parts flow into place without your say so. Truth, and its capture, is not 24 frames a second – it is much faster than that and it is one shot or none. You receive, you don’t take or prey.
